Vinyl tablecloth (aka oilcloth in old terms) has been gaining popularity for home kitchen and patio uses.
It is very easy to wipe down vinyl tablecloth with a damp cloth or cleaning wipes and oilcloth is generally waterproof and oil-proof, which means that vinyl tablecloth is free from stains most of the time. When you accidentally spill beverage over the tablecloth, it is easy to clean up without the embarrassment.
Although vinyl tablecloth is generally free of stains, it may have wrinkles or fold lines as a result of packaging, which makes the tablecloth look not so nice. Because of the chemical nature of vinyl tablecloths, the material is sensitive to heat and could melt if the heat is intense.
To smoothen the wrinkles / fold lines, you can use a hair dryer at its low heat and use your fingers to smooth out the wrinkles while you apply the hot air to the surface. If you do not have one, you could put your vinyl tablecloth in your dryer machine at low heat and let it run for 2 - 5 minutes. Take it out and then smooth out the vinyl tablecloth with your fingers.
